SHE DEVILS DANCE TEAM COMPETE AT STATE DANCE IN GRAND ISLAND

WAYNE, NEBRASKA (February 20, 2024) – The Wayne She Devils Dance Team performed at the Nebraska State Cheer & Dance Competition in Grand Island on February 17th in Class C1, performing two routines in high kick and hip hop. The She Devils gave a stellar performance with each dance routine, placing highest in hip hop as sixth out of 16 teams. The team of ten dancers includes two seniors, Kierah Haase and Leah Perry; five sophomores, Adrienne Anderson, Kennasyn Blecke, Jacen Hasemann, Josie Ley, and Megan Magnuson; and three freshmen, Addison Frank, Caylie Hopkins, and Mallory Redden.  They are coached by Halley Carroll and Courtney Marksmeier with Elite Dance Center in Wayne.

The She Devils regularly perform at home football and basketball games. Practices are held at 6:00am during the week starting in August and leading up to the state competition in February. They will be hosting their Spring Dance Show for the public on Sunday, April 14th, performing a variety of dances and coaching a clinic for young dancers before the show. Look for more information to be posted on Facebook at She Devils Dance Team.

The Wayne She Devils Dance Team is completely self-funded, which means it does not receive any funding from the school. The team holds several fundraisers throughout the year, including a car wash in August and split-the-pot raffles at home basketball games. Funds raised cover uniforms, music licenses, travel expenses, and other items.  This year’s state dance expenses for hotels and meals were sponsored by Hasemann Funeral Home.

The Wayne She Devils Dance Team thanks the community, Wayne Community Schools, and their families for such tremendous support all year long.
