School Community Intervention and Prevention (SCIP)
The K – 8 Counselor is Team Leader for the elementary and junior high School Community Intervention and Prevention (SCIP) Teams. SCIP programs are sponsored by the Lincoln Medical Education Partnership, which provides training for teachers who serve on the teams. The purpose of the teams is to assist school staff, peers and parents in identifying at-risk behaviors and to provide a support system, information and resources for addressing problem areas within and outside of school. Through the SCIP program, the school collaborates with community agencies and coordinates referrals for free screenings and evaluations to determine if further services would benefit the student involved.
