National Honor Society
National Honor Society TM
Character, Leadership, Scholarship, Service
The National Honor Society is sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. It has existed for over fifty years to encourage high school students to prepare themselves for useful roles in our society. Candidates are selected based on four ideals--scholarship, leadership, character and service. The National Honor Society strives to recognize the total student--one who excels in all four areas. Probationary students are selected in the spring of their junior year and announced at Honor's Night. An induction ceremony is held in the fall of their senior year. Once selected, members have the responsibility to continue to demonstrate the four ideals. They will spend the year doing service projects at school and around the community.
Sponsor: Mrs. Pam Vanderveen
Selection Procedure: Juniors with a first semester grade point average of 3.5 and above will be notified when it is time to submit the Student Activity Form.
Probationary candidates will be announced at Honors Night in the spring and formally inducted in the fall of their senior year.
