"My favorite classic books are written by Nebraska authors—John G. Neihardt, Willa Cather, Bess Streeter Aldrich. I also enjoy reading poetry. My favorite recreational reads are mysteries and detective stories, romance, and biographies. Authors such as Danielle Steele, Mary Higgins Clark, Nicholas Sparks, James Patterson, Stephen King to name a few. In my spare time I like to read of course, travel, garden, and visit my grandchildren."

Library assistants are selected from the junior and senior classes at the beginning of each semester. They provide a valuable service to the school and also gain work experience they can draw on for the future. Students practice proper customer service while working at the checkout desk, they use the hand-held scanner to do inventory, they keep the printers supplied with paper and help students on the computer network, they organize magazines and books as they are circulated, they help set-up audiovisual equipment, and assemble bulletin boards.
