Mission Statement: Through partnerships with teachers, students, administration, and parents the mission of the library media program is to serve the school's educational goals and objectives by providing access to information and ideas for the entire school community.


The Wayne High School Library is the place to go when you need to know!
Check the bulletin board in the library for daily announcements, the school calendar, teacher schedules, and other school information.

The library media center provides:
  • Nonfiction and reference books. Students have 24 hour access to the World Book Encyclopedia as well as magazine databases through the online catalog's homepage links.
  • Fiction books that support the curriculum.
  • Interlibrary loan—books may be borrowed from libraries around the world through a cooperative agreement with the Nebraska Library Commission.
  • Paperback books for recreational reading.
  • Magazines for research and recreational reading. Students have 24 hour access to EBSCO and SIRS databases which provide full-text magazines and reference materials.
  • Access to current newspapers in print and online.
  • Special collections: careers, yearbooks, spanish language, and culture
  • Audio-visual equipment for use on school grounds.
  • Broadcast services-- Channel One News, satellite programming, cable television, and school-produced programs which may be transmitted to all classrooms through the closed circuit system.
  • A 12 station computer lab to facilitate research and communication by providing access to software on the school network and use of the Internet.
  • The IMC room to view audio-visuals, work in small groups, practice presentations.
  • Instruction in information literacy and personalized assistance from an ALA accredited library media specialist.
